M101 - The 'Pinwheel Galaxy' in Ursa Major

This face-on spiral galaxy is about 21 million light-years away from us and has about the same size as our home galaxy. Tidal interactions with neighboring galaxies trigger strong star formation activities in its spiral's arms.
