The tone bars in the D-50 have been "shaved" or planed towards the peripheral ends. I don't know if this is how they came from the factory, or if it was done later. Note the large rosewood bridge plate (stains are super glue that wicked down the pin holes when I was sealing a fine hairline crack in the bridge).
