"Galactic Campfire"

NGC 4945 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation of Centaurus. It is oriented nearly edge-on to us and is thought to be similar to the Milky Way.
It belongs to a small group of galaxies that includes NGC 5128 (Centaurus A) and M83 that lies around 13 million light years away.

This is an LRGB image (120, 80, 80, 80 minutes). Subs were 15 mins (unbinned) for L, 10mins (binned 2x2) for RGB.
FOV is 29 x 19 arcmins @ 1.05 arcsec/pixel.

It was taken with a Takahashi TOA-150 refractor @ F11.7 (FL=1760mm) on a Takahashi EM-400, SBIG STL 11000M camera and AO-L.
