Watch

My Mum bought this watch as a wedding present for my Dad. It got consigned to a draw when Dad got a new fangled digital watch (yuk) and then became a plaything for my brother and I. I found it recently and said to Dad that we should get it restored. He said he didn't think he'd wear it - now he's retired he doesn't have to worry about the time except for his golf. So he gave it to me and I'm off to the watch repairer.

From what I know about watches, that's actually a very nice one. I think you've lucked out there Gail!

Nice shot. In your coloured version, you used a very nice background.

Very nice classic Omega,Gail. I like the b&w version...to show its classic-ness.

Nice story Gail. I have a wind up watch that my Mum bought me for my 17th birthday. When by 'best' watch (which my Mum also bought me) needs a new battery I use the old one until I get a new one one. Mm, you've just given me an idea for PaD.

Well captured, the black and white version works best for me.

nice watch. when i was younger, my dad would give me watches too. i never understood or appreciated it. he always gave me watches such at this one, and as i kid i'd rather have the electronic ones that were easier to read or had built-in calculators that made noises. :D nowadays, i wonder if dads still give their sons watches as a traditional gift. i think the idea of a watch as a wedding present from a spouse is excellent too! i guess there's something sentimental attached with watches, the idea of passing time perhaps?

i like that you chose black and white to show something from the past. a sepia tone probably would've worked too. but i have to say, i love the color version! the blue blackground is just so radiant that i can't help but like the color one best. :P kind of like how a kid prefers a digital watch over the analog one because it's more cool. :D
