Striped maple (Acer pensylvaticum)

Also known as moosewood because moose, and deer, are known to favour their bark. Several of these small native trees have been planted at the FWG and are doing well. They are an understory tree, growing in shady conditions. I think they are one of the prettiest of all our native trees, every part of them being attractive.
