Black walnut (Juglans nigra)

Most of the black walnuts at the FWG have been planted by squirrels. The trees are abundant and although they are supposed to grow slowly, I have found they grow quite quickly in their first year or two. This tree is native to Ontario, but not to the Ottawa district.
