Oak leaf and acorn (Quercus)

I had labeled this red oak, but clearly it is not. It was suggested it could be english oak, a likely ID, but we need to check out the oaks in summer first.

It must be handy having the squirrels doing your work for you! Here, ants sometimes do the same though with much smaller seeds.
