A badge from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police in Nevada. The Metropolitan Police was formed in 1973 from the merging of the old Clark County Sheriff's Department and the Las Vegas Police.

The LVMPD is unusual among city police forces in that the top officer is titled Sheriff rather than Chief of Police.
