Worm Snake

You will seldom ever see one of these small, harmless snakes.
They are virtually blind and live in the soil, sometimes in
seemingly very hard packed dirt. I usually only see them
when digging in the garden, and then only momentarily
as they are quite fast at digging. If you're lucky enough
to catch one, they may relax a bit, but remain quite wirey
and active in their attempt to gain their freedom. They
take their name from their main diet - worms. Found in
my backyard in Greensboro NC.
