Today I had to go shopping.

I received an invitation to a quite smart party, I will attend in a few days and I needed to choose a suitable present and also an elegant dress.

I have mixed feelings about parties.
Usually I find them unbearably boring, but occasionally one can meet, with a little luck, one or two interesting and witty people there and in this case one can have an enjoyable conversation, while remaining slightly detached.

There is always so much to learn just observing people in different circumstances.

As for dress style, then I think that if one accepts an invitation to a official reception, then one has to dress in a suitable way.

It’s a matter of respect for oneself and also of aesthetics.
I’m not a frivolous lady, but I still enjoy a little coquetry...It’s one of the privileges of a woman my age.

I didn’t feel like driving downtown so I asked my chauffeur to fetch me.
