Black Bayou Lake

Black Bayou enters Louisiana from Texas about one mile south of the juncture of Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas state lines. A dam on the bayou creates a nine mile lake between Hosston and Rodessa. The upper portion of the area was a dense tupelo swamp up to a mile wide. The lower portion was a shallow cypress swamp greater than a mile in width.

Cool shot, Fred. With the drought the water level looks to be way down this fall. Big change from last October.

The moss looks like a tutu.

Amazing how the moss drapes the trunks like a garment. Beautiful.

Beautiful, another part of Louisiana that gets overlooked.
