320 Degree View @ The Chapel of the Holy Cross

Sedona, AZ

View this image at both the "large" and "original" settings by clicking on either at the center bottom of this screen.
This is a very popular spot to visit in Sedona. The chapel is set in the rocks (see: http://www.pbase.com/fredparsons/image/39232912 for a front view of the chapel).
This image was shot with a wide angle lens in about 12 shots and reduced to about 8. I had to do some work on one spot where it did not line up perfectly. The walkway up to the chapel is about 36 inches wide at one spot and about 4 feet wide at a spot to the back of this image and not shown
. So from the far left edge to the far right edge of this image, you are seeing about 320 degrees of the whole 360!
Flattened out, it presents a rather different image. You can see the rock formation called "two nuns" on the left. Then more to the right and just to the left of the person sitting down is "courthouse" rock. Between the sitting and standing persons (left of the chapel) you can see "bell" rock.

Love these wide vistas - they give you the feeling of being there. I haven't done any 360's in a while... do you use a panoramic head to keep the captures level?
