Portal of Saint Anne #2

Paris, France

There are three nonidentical portals to the church. This is the oldest portal and is on the South side or on your right when facing the church. It was installed around 1200. The figures are believed to be Saint Paul, King David, Bathsheba and another king. The statues were destroyed during the French revolution in 1793. I understand that the revolutionaries thought they were statues of kings. They were restored in the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc’s. For more information click on the link below.
