Doing Some Housekeeping
I watched a pair of Western Scrub Jays busy gathering grass and whatever else they could find, evidedntly to build their nest. Here they are working along the top of a fence bordering some condos. I thought they were an attractive couple.

Stick Your Neck Out
I immediately thought of this expression when I saw this Great Egret in a tree at Delta Ponds.
Here is what Cambridge Dictionaries Online says about the phrase - "stick your neck out: › to take a risk: I’m really sticking my neck out by investing my money in this idea."

The Middle Sister, Oregon Cascades
The Three Sisters are well-known and popular mountains that lie between the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon. There is snow on the high mountains but little or none on lower elevations, where there is normally between five and seven feet of snow. Most of the ski areas are closed. However, the mountains look majestic clothed with the snow. The Middle Sister rises to just over 10,000 feet.

Outstanding in Their Field
I took a walk this afternoon and it was a warm 71 deg. F. Lots of flowers in bloom, including these pretty poppies that were out standing in their field in more ways than one! I loved the way the poppies popped out against a dark background. It was a good start for the week. -

Rock Rose - Flower in Rock Garden at Alton Baker Park
There is a small Japanese style rock garden in Alton Baker Park, and that is where I photographed this gorgeous little flower.
I learned the flower is a rock rose, and appreciate very much its beauty!

On the Fence About Catching the Black Ball
I just couldn't helping making this photograph of the glove on the fence. When I first saw it, I wondered if it was the glove I lost somewhere along the trail. But alas, it wasn't mine. So I took the shot and went on my way, amused at what I saw. Hope you see the humor in it too. :)

The Perfect Pose
It seemed almost as if my model for today's photo of the day had worked with photographers before.
The Western Scrub Jay assumed the perfect pose for this photo, at least I thought so!
The superb beauty and design I see in nature fills me with awe!

Not the Lockness Monster
Every time I pass this crooked tree in the Delta Ponds I think how unique and interesting it looks. So naturally I just had to photograph it. The way it snakes through the water reminds me of a sea monster, the Delta Ponds Monster. Like I told you, I have a good imagination! :)

Spring is Here!
I saw this beautiful floral arrangement along a brick wall in a condo yard as I walked the path along the Willamette River. I thought the arrangement of flowers was so beautiful. I couldn't resist stopping for a photo.

Out on a Limb
I went up Skinner Butte to check on the nesting bald eagles. One parent was sitting in the nest, doing nothing very interesting. There was an older gentleman sitting in a chair watching too. He had binoculars and had spotted another eagle in a tree not far from the nest. I would never have spotted it myself, because of my present eye situation and perhaps would not have otherwise. The eagle was pretty well hidden. It took me a bit to spot it. When I did I got a few shots of it when it looked the right direction. This is a crop, to about a third of the original image. Thank heavens that beautiful head stood out, its body is barely seen. I am glad I went, just to get this picture.
