Intricate Weaving!
Those spiders, with their tiny brains, are such master builders, in some ways putting us mighty humans to shame. Doesn't this make you wonder? The marvels of nature, charged with so much design and order, fill me with awe! And I love the detail and complexity of spider webs!

Horizon Airlines Bombardier Q400
I got this shot of this Horizon Airlines Bombardier Q400 as it flew over Delta Ponds, after leaving the Eugene Airport. This turbo prop passenger plane seems to be popular with several airlines, such as Horizon, Transport Canada and Alaska.

Posing in the Spotlight
We have three types of cormorants that frequent Oregon. The most common of these is the Double-crested Cormorant. I see how some of them got this name, but seldom see the crest on most of them. This pair in Delta Ponds is typical. I really liked the lighting on the birds, as I was there at just the right time.

Some Sun on a Foggy Morning in Delta Ponds
To me, a scene containing fog as one of the elements is enriched by it. I thought the foggy background in this colorful scene at Delta Ponds gives it an extra dimension. I think it helps the sunshine and colors to stand out as they do.

Portrait of a Leaf
This composition greeted me as I explored Alton Baker Park today. I was very pleased with the result.

Belted Kingfisher on a Stump
I was surprised to see this Kingfisher in plain sight on top of an old dead stump in Delta Ponds! They are so elusive! They won't let you get close and are often gone before a person even notices them. But I was as close as I have ever been to this one. And the zoom lens brought him up close and personal. It was a good morning!

A Focused Photographer
I saw this photographer on a bridge in Delta Ponds watching a Great Egret fishing below the bridge. I slowly made my way to the bridge and had a nice visit with him, besides getting some nice photos of the egret. Next time I have to get his name!

Haughty Heron
We are having dark cloudy days and rain the last few days. But the weather doesn't keep the birds from their daily activity. I watched as two Great Blue Herons postured and pranced, in dispute over an area of the ponds. This heron just moved away from conflict as the other approached, bristled for action. Even though it retreated, it still shows a haughty attitude. I love its pose!

The Stream at Clearwater Park
Another excursion to Clearwater Park got me this view of the stream that is diverted from the Willamette River to flow through part of the park. It can make for nice landscape scenes, such as this one, warmed by the light of the morning sun.

Amazing Artwork
Anyone who sees the back of this pickup needs to pay close attention to their driving and not get focused in on the amazing artwork. I think the artist has done fine work on this. It reminds me of a Montana mountain scene. Can be seen on the streets of Springfield.

The Beautifully Colored Spotted Towhee
This beautiful Spotted Towhee was seen at Clearwater Park. I think they are such attractive birds!

Light Does Funny Things to a Leaf!
This colorful leaf was sunlit on the bottom half and backlit (or sidelight) on the top half, making for a quite unusual appearance. It jumped out at me visually, so I just had to photograph it!
