Day Lily in the Light of Day
I just couldn't resist posting this photo of the daylily in our backyard. It is such a beautiful plant with lots of individual flowers on it. Of course, with the heat wave we are having, I have to give it a bit of water every day. It is rewarding me! (Carol held a black poster board up for the background)

Dating Days
Another blast from the past for you - this is Carol and me behind a figure prop for photos at the Oregon State Fair in September 1960, eight months before we were married. The only picture we have is the print we bought from the photographer. So this is a copy of that print. Thanks very much to Roy, who made it presentable for us!

Love at First Bite!
At first, it appeared that these geese had issues of right-a-way! More likely it is attraction that set them on course.
I loved their poses and the great color in the water. This scene is at Delta Ponds.

Getting to the Heart of the Matter
The center of this dogwood blossom looks like a berry, and that's what really attracted me. It's what I wanted to be the center of interest.
I hope that is what draws your attention.

"Not a fish! I am so embarrassed!"
Well, I had to think of some title to get your attention! You were dozing! LOL Did I ever tell you? I love herons!

In All Its Glory!
After I watered the 'mound' (what we call a raised area for flowers and groundcover), I checked out our day lilies soaking up the moisture. This one was brightened by sunlight and the water drops stood out beautifully. I just had to capture it in all its glory!

Inside The Washburne Cafe
I stopped to enjoy a latte at the Washburne Café and thought the wall of photographs and two patrons made a nice picture. So I shot it. :) If interested, here is some information about the Washburne Café:

Handcut Gemstones by John
While visiting our friends, John and Marty, I grabbed a shot of some of the gemstones John had brought home from his shop, JDC Gem. The photo was done with a little P&S. I would like to shoot more sometime with one of my better cameras. John sells his gemstones on Etsy, and it is interesting to take a look at all the beautiful stones he has there -

Splash of Color
I have always thought this flower to be one of the prettiest. The name escapes me, but that doesn't keep me from admiring it. This one was in a great setting, if you like lots of color that is! I was hoping to hear the splash of rain today, but this splash of color will have to do. Ah yes, it's a Columbine. Thanks everyone!

Just Hanging Around
It was a treat to visit Delta Ponds again after a layoff due to surgery. The Great Blue Herons were there in numbers, and some Green Herons too. I also saw some Greater Yellow Legs and even a Mink! The bullfrogs also seemed to be more plentiful. I think they liked hiding in the dark plants growing underwater. This one seems to be saying, 'here's looking at you!'
By the way, the white around its mouth is where its head breaks the water, just in case you wondered. :)

Bee on Cone Flower (echinacea)
A pretty neighborhood yard with lots of flowers also had a lot of bees, busily flying from flower to flower. I tried to catch one on a flower and succeeded with this one. I was shooting handheld, so was pleased with the result. Hope you like it too! :)

Consider How The Lilies Grow
I was completely in awe of the beauty of this Oriental Lily in a neighborhood yard. The beauty and design is simply stunning. The homeowner, Debra, kindly showed me around her yard, and let me photograph there.
The lily reminded me of a Bible verse - (Luke 12:27) "Consider how the lilies grow: They neither toil nor spin; but I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these."
