It Was That Kind of Day!
I took my car to the dealer for some work and set out to take a walk in Delta Ponds. But the deluge came and I got thoroughly soaked just walking to get a latte. Thus ended my morning walk.

Wind Chime
I love the shapes and colors of this wind chime. I wanted a blue background and got it. I like the result, even though the round pieces could have been turned a bit more to show more of them.

Our Beautiful First-born, Angela Dawn
Our oldest daughter, Angie, dropped by today to check on her Mom and Dad. She brought me some sugar-free cupcakes, which are delicious. Of course, we think she is beautiful, as are our other daughters, Syndee and Katy. :)

Bushy Tail
I liked the pose of this squirrel. It wasn't sure whether I was sufficient danger and if it needed to flee up the tree. It gave me time to get this shot this morning at Alton Baker Park.
It was a nice day. It appears we are past the snow and ice storms. The next storm to come in will bring the normal rains, which we need. And it will also bring needed snow to the Cascades.

All That's Left of the Snow Storm!
When I went for my morning latte, it was still dark out. But the headlights of a truck and my headlights combined to show part of the huge pile of snow still left in this parking lot. I thought it turned out good. Hope you did too!

Jackie
I taught a class for new instructors at Lane Transit yesterday called, "Transitioning from Bus Operator to Instructor." I enjoy sharing this subject with those new to the position. While at the class I got to see an old friend, Jackie, who I had appointed as instructor while I was still at Lane Transit. Jackie has been working for LTD for 21 years and instructing for at least the last 12 years. It was great to have her on my team of instructors. She is still there, very active in the training program. Jackie will be retiring before long, which will be a loss for LTD.

Mom, I'm Tired of Winter!
I think the expression on the face of Carol's little doll may well represent how many are feeling about winter by now. Today was the first day I had my Explorer out in five days. First the snow and then the ice, We even lost power for a while on Saturday. Happy to say that we are now thawing out. Unfortunately, it looks like other parts of the country are in for a new blast of winter. Anyway, I love the look on that little doll's face.

Icicles Like Prison Bars
We had an ice storm yesterday with freezing rain most of the day. It ended up bringing about some interesting results, such as these icicles on Carol's bird feeder in the backyard. I think they look like prison bars. :)

Robin On Ice
It started out snowing this morning, again But then it changed to freezing rain and that continued all day, coating everything with a layer of ice. I didn't wander far from the house, too much snow and ice! But I saw a number of robins flying around our yard and the one next door. One of them landed in a bush across the fence and I got a few shots of it sitting on an ice covered bush. Looked like a sculpture to me. :)

It's Still Snowing!
An unusual winter storm hit our area beginning Wednesday night, bringing snow to the area. The snow continued most of the day yesterday and pretty much all day today. At times, it changed to freezing rain. Snow accumulation grew from three or four inches to about 8-9 inches today. The snow covered bridge that I posted yesterday is almost completely covered today. I wanted to get a picture of the falling snow, rather than just that on the ground. Tried different ways, including blurring the falling snow, but liked this result. The bush is loaded down with snow tonight.

Snow Bridge
We are in the midst of a winter storm bringing snow to the area. The snow blanket can add beauty to a scene, as it does to Carol's little bridge over a tiny pond. I think looks pretty nice anyway! Just got my beloved D3 from Nikon, where it was sent for cleaning. So glad to have it back.
