Six Petals and Two Drops
I passed by this beauty on my walk this morning. Directional sunlight emphasized the gorgeous colors, and the two sets of three petals perfectly surround the lovely yellow center. I think it looks delicious. :)

Inner Glow!
Don't know what this flower is but the colors and light coming from inside attracted me. The blossoms remind me of popcorn. :)

The Last Laugh?
This Great Blue Heron at Delta Ponds seems to be laughing about something. That bulge in its neck indicate it just found dinner. It caught something there, but I don't know what it was. If you look close you will see somthing in its beak! The light coming through its beak caught my eye. Looks like one healthy bird!

Greater Yellowlegs
This beauty was lurking along the edge of a pond, looking for something to eat. It is always neat to see the shorebirds. We don't see a lot of them here. I learned it is a Greater Yellowlegs, which looks quite a bit like the Lesser Yellowlegs. The Willet also looks similar in my Birds of Oregon book.

Want to Buy a Car?
I decided to sell my car. Interested? Ok, it isn't mine. I saw it when I went to get a latte and couldn't resist a photo. I think at one time it was a Model T touring car. Would appreciate a correct ID. At one time it was a real beauty.

Lesser Goldfinch
I saw these beautiful yellow birds at Delta Ponds. I thought they were American Goldfinch. (Thanks for the info, Laura) I think I have seen them only once before. They were at water's edge. I was fortunate that I was able to spot them get a few shots. Small birds are difficult for me now.

Cocky Cormorant
Usually, cormorants around here are very shy of humans. They are usually flying away anytime we get near. While visiting Alton Baker park, I saw this cormorant along the bank of the canal. Somehow, I got fairly close, even though I was in the open. Every time it looked my way, I looked elsewhere and didn't move. That seemed to work and I got close enough for this shot, which is uncropped. It was fun.

The Simpsons at Home in Springfield
Since the creator of the Simpsons grew up in Portland, Sprigfield Oregon always felt that it was the Springfield that was home to the Simpsons. Not being a viewer of the program, it is not of real interest to me. :) However, on Monday Springfield held an official unveiling of “The Simpsons” mural on the side of the Emerald Art Center. It seems to have attracted a lot of attention, as seen in the photo I shot of the mural this morning.

A Flower Just for You!
This flower looked so beautiful witg those green leaves around the lovely purple flowers. It was like a bouquet made especially for the viewer. This is my opportunity to present you with a bouquet. Hope you like it!

The Beautiful Great Blue Heron
I liked the Great Blue Heron's pose while fishing from this stump in Delta Ponds. I love those birds in any pose. :)

Dale With Tex Rankin's Plane
This morning, Carol's brother, Dale Rankin, and I visited the Oregon Aviation Historical Society museum in Cottage Grove. They have a lot of memorabilia donated by the family of Tex Rankin, at one time world champion pilot. Tex was Dale's great-uncle. Dale was named after his son. The museum has a 1931 Great Lakes 2T-1A biplane that was owned by Tex, and they are in the process of restoring it. They hope to finish it for a test flight toward the end of the year. It was nice to get a photo of Dale with the plane.

Graveyard CarZ
I saw this on the way home from my walk today. I wondered if it was a car hearse, out looking for dead cars! :)
