Today was not one of my better days. Thinking my gas gauge had quit working and that I had filled my tank, I took a friend for a drive. About 25 miles from home, the Explorer sputtered to a stop. I restarted it and moved on, only to have it quit again. Now I began to doubt myself. Is the gauge really malfunctioning, or could it be possible that the tank is empty? Hmm, guess which was correct? While waiting for our oldest daughter to rescue us, I had time for contemplation and talking to trees.
