Gerber Daisy (DX lens/FX body)

I wanted to see what I could get using a DX lens with an FX Nikon. This is what resulted when I mounted my 18-200 VR on my D3 and disabled the feature that automatically switched to DX mode.

Wonderful shot!

Besides the expected vignetting, the image quality seems fine to me. If you either want or don't mind the vignetting, the DX lenses look to be a fine choice on an FX body.

It looks great to me Vern.

Nice effect, Vern. It would be fun to see a portrait shot this way.

I love it!

Very nice. The DX lens on the FX mode could be a very useful effect for a lot of things.

I sure like how it came out you come up with some great images all the time no matter what you use I think you could make good images with a pin camrea

The flower looks great. Does the vingeting change with zoom settings?

The vignette is perfect for this flower. The color is excellent!

I really like this image...It's like a frame around the subject that many people add in PP

A successful result with this subject, pretty and very clear, and the vignetting works well here.

Another very creative use of the D3, Vern...you certainly do put that marvelous camera through its paces! Beautiful "experiment!"

'Looks like it oughta work very nicely as a vignetting portrait lens.

I'd like to see a comparison with a shot in DX mode.
