Beaded slippers from the 1920s

(At the Singapore Museum)
These Peranakan slippers are from the early 1920s and originally were parts of wedding items..
They are of silk, velvet and leather and embroidered with glass beads, gold threads and sequins..
The popular motifs used for the patterns were flowers, birds and butterflies..
