Short final Latacunga, Ecuador. Taken from the jumpseat while flying into this very tricky airport high in the Andes mountains. Terrain all around us and because of the high elevation of the airport (9000ft above sealevel) the true airspeed is very high, resulting in enormous turnradius in between the mountains, high rate of descent on final and hot brakes after landing on this short runway.
