One of the trails at Lake Mead follows the old construction railbed to Hoover Dam. Between the Hacienda trailhead and Hoover Dam itself it goes through five tunnels. They were built oversize to accomodate the huge pinstocks that were hauled to the site. The route was mainly used to haul gravel to the concrete plants at the dam site.
