'David' at the Victoria & Albert Museum

The statue of David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created between 1501
and 1504 by Michelangelo. The original is a 5.2-metre marble statue of a standing male nude.
The statue represents the Biblical hero David, a favoured subject in the art of Florence, Italy.

The statue in London is a cast copy of the original.
