This obliging sterocoradid feasted on nearby probable shrimp boat by-kill, a hardhead catfish, on Whiskey Island in Louisiana. Whiskey Island is the second largest remnant barrier island in the Isles Dernieres chain off of Terrebonne parish. Not many Louisiana birders expect to observe jaegers feeding on a Gulf coast beach; however, this adult Pomarine in heavy molt with bleached greater coverts among many other odd feathers was surely a surprise for Justin Bosler, the finder, and me. We last observed this beast on June, 25th.
