Today's assignemt was to photograph jewellery. I had this fine watch (courtesy Patricia) and the challenge for me was to come as close as possible and combat the reflections. With the large lensplate of the Cambo Ultima 35 at only 10 cm from the watch you see everything reflected! Besides, I also wanted a nice light on the sculptured head.
Finally I succeeded with a soft box from behind, extra diffused with a screen of transparant paper and various reflection screens in front and from below the watch. The highlights on the head and lower chains come from a small mirror (thanks Mick for holding these).
There are still some unwanted reflections, but somewhere good is good enough...
