Today I found a moment to visit the special exhibition of the 15th anniversery of the Maastricht Treaty of 1992 (which led the way to the European Union and the Euro currency). The original treaty was flown back to Maastricht from Rome - where all european treaties are kept - and exhibited in the Hoofdwacht (main guardhouse) in the background.
On my way out I decided to take a picture of the Vrijthof in dusk and here came this homeless man placing himself in front of my camera. I think he made this picture. Knowing this square is full of partying people within a week - yes, carnival! - the contrast cannot be bigger...
