Who can pass up swans when they're right next to the shore, preening and making pretty...certainly not me. We spent the morning snapping shots and after combing through the multitude of images I even found one with triangles! Mute Swan facts: Mute swans are usually silent, as the name suggests. Adults sometimes snort and make hissing noises or puppy-like barking notes or whistles, though the sounds are not far-reaching due to their straight trachea. ~ Animal Diversity Web
