We've always commonly referred to these wild flowers as Tiger Lilies, but technically they are a
Lilium columbianum or more commonly Columbia Lily. They grow in a variety of habitats, as far
north as British Columbia and south to northern California. From alpine heights to sea level, the
Columbia lily grows in forests, thickets and meadows. We found quite a few on a ride we took in the
higher elevations between Cowichan Lake and Port Renfrew on Vancouver Island.
