9 - Schilders uit de Gouden Eeuw

I... Interior of the "Mauritshuis"

I showed you the exterior of the 'Mauritshuis' on December 4th. In this museum a lot of paintings can be viewed of the great Dutch painters of the Golden Age. Here are a few portraits. (I have chosen the less familiar painters; everybody knows about Rembrandt, Vermeer etc.)
From left to right:
Paulus Moreelse: Portrait of an unknown lady, 1627
Ferdinand Bol: Portrait of Michiel de Ruyter, 1667
Jan Mijtens: Portrait of Wolfert van Brederode, 1663
Ferdinand Bol: Portrait of Engel de Ruyter, 1669
Adriaen Hanneman: Portrait of Maria Henriëtte Stuart, married to Prince William II of Orange, 1650-1660.

What a precious inheritance your country has in its artists. This is lovely, with great control of the lighting to show these fine paintings.
