This globular cluster in Hercules is often overlooked due to the spectacular M-13 nearby. This image is a six layer composite, taken with an 8 inch Newtonian, and a Nikon D300 with a 1.4x teleconverter for an equivalent focal length of about 1650mm. It was guided with a Nikon 300mm lens and an Imaging Source DMK firewire camera. It was taken from a light-polluted backyard in suburban Milwaukee, using an IDAS light pollution suppression filter.
