M-27 is a bright (7.3 magnitude) planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, just east of the Northern Cross. It's a favorite target for stargazers and is visible in small scopes and binoculars. This photo is a combination of 5 frames, exposed for 3 minutes with a Nikon D300 and a Celestron 9.25 at f/10. It was taken on a hazy, dewy night from a light-polluted back yard in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin on Aug. 1, 2013.
