Venus approaches the limb of the sun after a historic transit in early June, 2004. The photo was taken from a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan at Concordia College, about 25 miles north of Milwaukee. The transit was in progress as the sun rose on a morning that was fortunately, very clear. The photo was taken with a Meade ETX 90 equiped with an Identi-View solar filter and a Nikon D100. The scope was mounted on a Celestron G-11 mount.
