It was mid-December 2005, and I was viewing Venus from my inside my office at Birder's World magazine. A high flying jet was passing by, and it happened that its contrail crossed in front of the planet at about 4:10 pm Central time. I took the photo through the large, south-facing window as I sat at my desk. The shot was taken with a Nikon D100, a 300mm lens and a 1.4x teleconverter.
