About four years ago I commented on a beautiful photo here on PBase and in response received a touchingly personal email from the photographer,
Mattias Backström . Over the years our friendship has grown and moved beyond PBase, most recently into the "real" world. For two weeks I got the magical pleasure of shooting around Southern California with Mattias.

It was a beautiful time filled with laughter, photography, and the wonderful realization that even in person, we are the best of friends!
Though he's back in Sweden now, we are already planning the next photo trip. It can't come soon enough!

I learned a lot from Mattias. Maybe someday my pictures will be as great as his:
