This is the entrance to the second gorge of the river Soca in Slovenia. The Soca Region is a paddlers paradise, but this gorge is considered unrunnable due to two huge sypohns in the middle. There have been some attempts, though (a report of a not very successful run can be read on soulboater.com). What can be seen on this image is the incredibe turquoise colour, which the Soca is famous for. It is hard to imagine how the water carved its way through these rocks. The gorge is very narrow - often not more than two or three metres, but the water is ten or fifteen metres deep.
