Today we will have our (already almost traditional) cherry blossom picknick. In Japan "Ohanami" ("to see the flowers (=cherry blossoms)" is one of the major springtime events. At its 1000 year anniversary, Austria received 1000 cheerry trees from Japan, which were planted all over the country. In Vienna, there are a few spots with these cherry trees, a.o. at the Donaupark near the United Nations Buildings. This image was taken in Stadtpark in the city center, where there is only one cherry tree. The blur comes from the motion of the branches in the wind.
