On top of the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia - Jewell Hollow Overlook, Shenandoah National Park.
On a moody, misty day these trees drift in and out of the swirling clouds that cover the mountains. Don't like what you see? - wait a few seconds and it will change. Not enough change? - travel 1/4 mile in almost any direction and go from mist to clear & back again. Only the nearest tree (< 100 ft. away) was visible about 30 seconds before this shot.
You can see from the nearly bare limbs that spring is slow arriving at the higher elevations.
Walked around a bit to find a vantage point where there was separation between all of the trees.
