A neighbor always has early blooming spring bulbs. Two little snow crocus were blooming last week and I captured one of them today.
If you know how tiny these guys are, you'll realize that this is pretty highly magnified - about 2x. The magnification was done in camera and not by cropping after the fact (although I did crop some off each end to change the 2X3 format into a 4x5 which just looked better compositionally - made for a nicer balance between the upper right and lower left framing).
Used a 105 mm 1:1 macro lens *plus* a 1.4x teleconverter *plus* the Canon 500D close up lens (and a circular polarizer for good measure). Lots of stuff screwed onto the front of the camera body.
