Back from 2 weeks in New Hampshire. Don't ask - hot & sunny every day; poor photo op weather. Even getting up at 4:45 to catch some decent morning light was only marginally helpful. Toss in a 700 mile drive (one way) and it was less than I expected photographically.
These two bobcats are not the type of subject that I favor nor what I planned to shoot in NH. However, there they were - and for a few moments they gave me this great pose. (They were as hot as I was - mid-90's. If I wanted hot, I could have stayed home in Virginia).
In a nature preserve near Squam Lake, the site of the film Golden Pond. What beautiful creatures! And amusing - they don't growl; they meow like a domestic cat (who'd like you for lunch).
Shot through a glass window with terrible lighting. They were in the mouth of their den (very dark with bright light all around). The D70's spot metering solved the situation nicely.
