We found a field of dragonflies that were still warming up after a very cold night. There was almost nothing you could do that would make them fly. A great opportunity to use my 1:1 macro with a 1.4x TC to get some amazingly detailed macros like this one (straight from camera with no crop, twist, etc.). Used my Plamp to hold the grass stem the way that I wanted it & the dragonfly never even twitched. A rare opportunity.
As luck would have it, I also got several other rare opportunities and PAD keepers all on the same day including the best wildlife image I've ever gotten - a magnificent red tailed hawk.
