My wife, Bets, is 39 today (again). Three days ago was our 44th anniversary so I know something's fishy. And yesterday being Mother's Day (she was actually born on Mother's Day) makes for a busy few days. Yesterday we went to the mountains for Mother's Day, had several nice meals starting with breakfast at Skyland lodge, and stopped at the Sperryville blown glass studio on the way home (to get some broken glass for me to experiment with). This photo is a shoot through - you know how much I enjoy this technique. It's a flower in a planter on the driveway shot through a purple-ish glass bowl that has a ragged 1/2" diameter hole in its bottom (the reason they gave it to me). I think that I can do better with my new toys, but this will have to do for now. Off to a movie (first in over 5 years) and a birthday bite to eat. Happy birthday, Dear.
