Gary, Good catch. I apologize - the moon was cloned (it's the only photoshopped image in any of my galleries). This was done to protest the MWCC rules that basically say "anything goes" in competitions - this was one of my two *protest* images in a nightscape theme competition. I object to these rules and am no longer competing with this club. I believe that photographic competitions should be about photography and not photoshop.

The judge recognized what I had done - especially since I used exactly the same moon in the same spot in two images that were presented side by side. He laughed and since the images were within the rules gave this one a second. Believe it or not this image was one of the least manipulated of the members' entries. Ridiculous!! The saving grace was that I got a first with my unaltered image (click previous).

Gorgeous... although I can't understand how the moon didn't blow completely out with 5 second exposure.
