Our weekly Shenandoah Park visit - leaving little doubt why these are called The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia (on the trail on the lonesome pine - but that's a song for us oldtimers). Lots of smoke and haze over the mountains today (ok, there's always a lot since this is the national park leader in haze and particulates thanks to our industrial neighbors to the west, but today there was more than usual) - the conditions really made visiblity poor (and blue). Used a circular polarizer - otherwise you couldn't see much past the third ridge. I retook this on 3/30 when it was a bit clearer - http://www.pbase.com/image/41448236
