Mimic Glass Lizard (Ophisaurus mimicus) Yvonne and I lucked out one day in August of 2011 and found this rarely seen glass lizard.
It was only discovered in 1987 while museum specimens were being examined. Its similarity in appearance to the Slender Glass lizard allowed it to be overlooked. Because of this similarity, it was given the species name of mimicus. Mimic Glass Lizard. Information from Florida's Turtles, Lizards and Crocodilians by Dick and Patricia Bartlett.
