Found one of these in a dense forest in Jacksonville, FL, resting on a tree after I accidentally ran face first into its web. It seemed to be resting off the web, don't know if that's normal for these spiders, avoids reacting to gentle prodding. The area of forest was very dense and humid but the web was set up on a higher ridge overlooking a pond where it was more breezy.
