Using some rye sourdough starter, a mix of rye kernels, rye meal and rye flour is added, along with water, a little
salt, and a modest amount of dark molasses. The ingredients are stirred enough to wet and blend the ingredients,
then allowed to sit for two to three hours. There will be some rising during this time, but nothing dramatic.
