Painted Lady Butterfly 0205 (V39)

A striking "Painted Lady" butterfly I saw in my garden. The undersides of it's wings look dramatically different than the tops. Here, with it's wings folded, you get to see the undersides. See the next picture @ http://www.pbase.com/image/31318760 for a view of the tops of it's wings.

Shot with a Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 1:1 macro lens and a pair of flashes on a Manfrotto flash bracket (see picture @ http://www.pbase.com/image/19220130. )
