The Long-whiskered Owlet is the smallest Owl and one of the rarest birds on earth...Very little is known about this species. Peru Endemic,This species known range is extremely small,discovered in 1976 when It has been captured in mist nets on three separate occasions. It had never been observed under "normacircumstances till 2007 when it was seen in the wild for the first time at Abra Patricia.
