What a fortunate find; you can fix the harsh flash with PS'ing. Get some bubble wrap, the kind with bubbles about 1/4 inch or more, but not bigger than a half inch, and use that to soften the onboard flash. Or use any size bubble..just experiment...I guess the EX550 or something like that is supposed to be pretty good. I want Metz..
Thank you, jypsee. And yes, there's some work using layers. I liked the enhanced effect - I was attempting to remedy a rather harsh onboard flash. One day I'm going to have to upgrade the flash, but I don't like how big the hot shoe flashes are.
